Lady Emma’s Cottage
The Rame peninsula, known to locals as ‘the forgotten corner of Cornwall’, and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park (865 acres of parkland, woods and rocky beaches), is truly glorious.
We are proud to announce we have added a new holiday cottage to our portfolio of holiday properties available to rent here at the park.
This fantastic 4 bedroom property has everything you could want for a relaxing break away (including a hot tub). Lady Emma’s Cottage is one of the most stunning and exclusive retreats in the United Kingdom.
Originally built in 1882 for Lady Emma Sophia Edgcumbe, daughter of the 2nd Earl, this Arts and Crafts property sits framed on one side by 865 acres of Grade 1 listed Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and on the other by the wonders of Plymouth Sound, Drake’s Island and the Mew Stone. Situated on the farthest reach of the Rame Peninsula this fabulous cottage is surrounded by secluded woodland with its own generous garden offering total privacy whilst capturing the stunning views. Accessed by woodland roads (sometimes used by walkers) and via a locked gate you will be staying at one of Britain’s most beautiful locations. A deer track in front of Lady Emma’s leads down to Wilderness Beach (shingle) with unrivalled views both out to sea and across to the maritime city of Plymouth (which despite your seclusion is only a short drive and ferry trip away).
You can book this fantastic hideaway for your perfect get away from it all. Enjoy the tranquillity of your surroundings or book one of the activities available on the park including Adventure Segway, Flyers Disc Golf, Archery, BabaYaga Circus Skills and Edge Cycles or indulge in a little retail therapy at the Barrow Centre.

This is an extraordinarily beautiful site for a holiday cottage and we feel very lucky to have spent a week there. Also, the care and attention that Tanya and Rob give to looking after the house and grounds, makes it even more special.
The cottage was more than I had expected- what a beautiful location even in the rain! The cottage was warm and cosy with plenty of room for our party of 7 adults. We enjoyed walks from the cottage to Kingsand and also walking to Cremyll to take the ferry across to Plymouth. Spectacular views and the camellias in Mount Edgcumbe country park were a joy!
My fifth visit to Emma's, quiet and scenic with excellent walks with the dog. I would definitely recommend if you appreciate peace and relaxing surroundings.
There is no doubt in our minds that Lady Emma’s Cottage is one of the best self catering cottages we’ve yet to experience. The remoteness provides an excellent retreat and makes for a wonderful base for spectacular walks along the South West Coast.
Fabulous location for peace, relaxation, beautiful walks, etc. Housekeepers do an awesome job to make you welcome with every detail thought about and house very clean and tidy on arrival.
Had great time, Thank you
