Sarah Shoraka Counselling and Psychotherapy

I believe that everyone can heal and grow. Sometimes we get stuck and need support to move forward or to be truer to ourselves

I am a registered psychotherapist in private practice. I offer face-to-face and online sessions in the Barrow Centre at Mount Edgcumbe.

I work with people from all types of backgrounds, ages, LGBTQI+, ethnicities, genders, abilities and heritages, respecting and affirming what is unique about you. I offer an empathetic, supportive, safe and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and what matters or is worrying you with someone that is outside of your day-day life. This can bring greater awareness of yourself and your situation and lead to shifts and personal growth.

I can help with: depression, anxiety, anger, abuse, trauma, relationship issues, domestic violence, family conflicts, panic attacks, neurodiversity, shame, self-harm, stress, burnout, low mood, phobias, feelings of loneliness, racism and low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts , gender identity, bereavement; as well as those going through major life changes, such as pregnancy, birth, retirement and menopause.

“Each of us secretly and desperately yearns to be ‘met’ – to be recognized in our uniqueness, our fullness and our vulnerability” Richard Hycner and Lynne Jacobs.
