What’s on for 2017 at Mount Edgcumbe


Saturday 7th & Saturday 14th October – 10.30am-12.30pm
Learn the Craft of Crochet

A friendly two week course for beginners. In the first two hour session you will learn how to hold your yarn and hook, and how to form the basic stitches needed for crochet creations. Having had time to practice, at our second meeting we will have a look at pattern reading skills needed to craft a traditional granny square. A kit will be provided with hook, yarn and instructions to get you started. Places are limited, so early booking is essential £25 p.p.


Saturday 14th October – 10.30am-12.30pm
Dowsing for Beginners

Sceptical? Why not try out the ancient art of dowsing here at Mount Edgcumbe and develop a new skill. Meeting on the terrace in front of Mount Edgcumbe House at 10.30am the walk will last for approximately 2 hours and cost £5 per person and don’t forget to bring your wire coat hangers!

Halloween Trail

Put on your most spooktacular costume and come and join in Mount Edgcumbe’s scary events this Halloween.   There will be a fancy dress competition held at 2pm in front of the Orangery, so you can do the scary trail before or after as you wish.

Age classes for fancy dress under 5, 6-7, 8-10, 11-16, and adults. Prizes for the scariest costume in each age range.

£2.50 per child (includes trail & fancy dress), registration from 12noon to 2.30pm at the Orangery, Cremyll. There will be lots of ghostly goings on along the way – it will be a Halloween treat for all! Goes ahead whatever the weather so come prepared!

NOTE:  Starts at the Orangery and ends at the Barrow Centre

Saturday 18th November — 10.00am-1.00pm
Hats and Flowers Crochet Workshop

Learn how to create a basic beanie hat, and how to make flowers to decorate it with. You will need to bring 3 – 3.5 mm hook and 70 – 100 gms of double knit yarn in a colour of your choice. A variety of colours will be provided to create a contrasting flower with which to embellish your hat when finished. Tickets £15.00 p.p. limited places, booking is essential


Sunday 19 November – from 2pm
Concert by Canoryon Lowen

The Friends of Mount Edcumbe Country Park present a consort given by Canoryon Lowen on Sunday, 19 November 2017 at 2pm in Mount Edgcumbe House.

Tickets: Friends £10, others £12 to include refreshments.

Christmas Fayre

Back for the fourteenth year, and still fabulous! The fayre will run 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
