Wednesday 24th January for six weeks
Tai Chi for Beginners

Hats and Flowers Crochet Workshop

Learn how to create a basic beanie hat, and make flowers to decorate it with. You will need to bring 3-3.5 mm hook and 70-100 gms of double knit yarn in a colour of your choice. A variety of colours will be provided to create a contrasting flower to embellish your hat when finished. Tickets £15.00 p.p. Guided Camellia Walk

This is an opportunity to join the Curator of the National Camellia Collection, held by Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, on a conducted tour of the collection that currently numbers approximately 1,000 cultivars. Meeting at Dry Walk Car Park tickets costs £5.00 p.p. Spring Garden Tour

Take a tour of our Grade I listed gardens and historic buildings while they are surrounded by beautiful spring blooms. Tickets £5.00 p.p. Bespoke Lampshade Making

Make TWO beautiful drum shade suitable for either a lampbase or ceiling fitting.

Would you like to learn how to make lampshades? A great skill, a bit like riding a bike, practiced a few times and never forgotten!
During the workshop you will have the opportunity to make two shades. You can bring your own fabric or buy my hand printed linen ready cut to the size of your shade.
The cost of the workshop is £55 and this includes everything you need (except fabric) to make a 30cm and 20cm shade. Hand printed linen can be purchased from £10 per panel. Additional fabric and shade kits can be purchased on the day, if required.  Tea, coffee and cake will be provided during the session.

This workshop will take place at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park – the home of our new shop and studio.

Learn the Craft of Crochet

A friendly two week course for beginners. In the first two hour session you will learn how to hold your yarn and hook, and how to form the basic stitches needed for crochet creations. Having had time to practice, at our second meeting we will have a look at pattern reading skills needed to craft a traditional granny square. History and Heritage of the Earl’s Garden

Discover all about the beautiful Earl’s Garden here at Mount Edgcumbe and what’s hidden away in all the nooks and crannies. Starting at 11.30am the talk will last approximately 1hr. Green Man Event

The giant figure of the Green Man returns to Mount Edgcumbe as a centre piece looming over the event sitting on his throne of leaves and bark – he will be presiding over music, entertainment, delicious food stalls and fabulous gift and craft stalls. With a childrens entertainment area there’s something for all the family. Entry to the event is free of charge – all day parking £5 per vehicle.

Working for ‘Lordy’

An introduction to life ‘below stairs’ and also on the estate at Mount Edgcumbe. Brought to life with photos and stories from the past. Going Bats at Mount Edgcumbe

Join us for a nocturnal adventure and let our colonies of bats be your guide. With rare species calling Mount Edgcumbe home, you could be in for a real treat with this expedition. Meeting on the terrace at the front of the house at 8pm, the walk will take approx. 2-3 hours and finish off with hot soup and cost £5.00 p.p. Spinning for Beginners

A two week course for those wishing to learn the ancient art of spinning a yarn. Participants need to attend in pairs where they will be provided with a starter kit of a drop spindle and fleece.
In week one we will learn the techniques of spinning fleece to thread on a drop spindle. Having had time to practice in week 2 we will progress to plying to create yarn suitable for knitting or weaving.

3 Wishes Faery Festival

Welcome one and all to the gathering of the faery clans and the mortal realms in Celtic Cornwall. For three fairytastic days where humans and faerie folk can walk (or fly!) side-by-side in harmony, in celebration of the magical time of midsummer.
Step into the fairy ring portal and into the realms of the Fae. Glimpse into fairyland, and experience how the ‘little people’ celebrate their love of the sacred land, for they are the guardians and carers of our earth.
