Latest update from the Mount Edgcumbe Cricket
It looked like we were practising for our 20/20 game on tour yesterday, as we knocked off the required 122 to win inside 16 overs.
Yelverton decided to bat but with tight bowling from Dan Rogers and Luke Dennis we restricted them to just 21 off the first 10 overs, no wickets though. However, the next bowlers cashed in with Chris Baskerville, Phil 0’Connell and Andrew Ware picking up three each in their spells. The final wicket went to Martin Moore, remember him, who ended the innings by bowling a wicket maiden. Oh Angus also bowled.
Ben Hutson and Jon Cummings replied by hitting ten off each of the first six overs before Ben was out for 35 from 28 balls. Steve Mathis and Martin Moore chipped away before Andrew Ware blasted 21 from 10 balls. Luke then went to the crease for his first bat for the club and hit the winning runs, a four boundary off the first ball, strike rate 400%
