Another game when over 200 runs where scored in the first innings, Birthday boy Dave picks up three wickets, Bailey and Andrew play out the overs to secure a draw and Andrew carries his bat and picks up a ton for his hard work.
The visitors batted steadily and it wasn’t until the last 10 overs that we took wickets regularly. 170 for 3 finished at 225 for 8 at tea,, with Dave and Bailey picking up three wicket apiece. Bailey picking up a personal best with 3 for 24.
With 5 ducks and a nought not out, nine batsmen only managed to score 11 runs, that’s 28 less runs than we gave the visitors with extras. Thank goodness we had the openers!
An opening stand of 74 between Andrew and Ben, when Ben was out for 51, his fifty coming off 41 balls in 43 minutes. Andrew battled on holding the innings together as wickets fell. He completed 50 off 77 balls in 82 mins and his battling 100 off 127 balls in 122 mins. Bailey with his third nought not out in three innings along with Andrew played out the last 4 overs to secure a good draw.
