Another good batting performance, Ben scoring a second consecutive 100 not out with Andrew 53 and Chris M 25 chipping in. A good performance in the field as well, no byes conceded by the wicket keeper, no wides conceded by the bowlers, in fact no extras in the innings! How rare is that!
Batting first an opening partnership of 91 saw Andrew caught on the boundary for 53, his fifty, fast for him, in 57 balls and 49 mins. Chris B struggled to establish himself at the crease and after 10 balls was out for 1, then a partnership of 82 between Ben and Chris M pushed the score on to 176. Ben dominated a 41* partnership with Matt (4*) at the end reaching his hundred of 84 balls, Andrew then declared on 215 for 3.
Tight bowling after tea, with only a couple of opposition batsmen making in roads to our total, and with wickets falling regularly with all four bowlers getting in on the act. Dave’s last two overs wiped out the tail, picking up 4 wickets and conceding no runs, shame about the first over.
A fine win by 111 (that nelson again) runs.
