Cricket Match Report – 7th July 2019

Latest update from the Mount Edgcumbe Cricket Team

Batting first and with a flurry of wickets at the end of the innings we declared at 249 for 8.  A century from Andrew and a 134 run partnership with Tom V 83, saw us to 184 for 2 when Andrew retired. Andrew’s 100 came off 93 balls in 97 minutes and Tom’s fifty off 41 ball in 57 mins. Dan claims the first golden of the season, A wide first ball, a wide second ball and with the declaration imminent he chased a third wide only to edge it to slip, what were they doing with a slip, with the score 249 for 7!

A double Payn attack opened the bowling with Josh bagging 4 wickets and Tom 1, some great catches from the wicket keeper and slips. Luke replace Josh and a triple wicket maiden killed off any resistance and Yelverton were all out for 82, 44 of which were extras!
